War Thunder F7F-1 Tigercat Tier 4 High Fighter

The F7F is the new American Heavy Fighter added in patch version 1.43.  Before I start out,let me say that this is the F4U-1C. Except for the overpowered climb, turn, and extra four machine guns. So in other words... overpowered! Since this thing can climb, I use it as a overpowered bomber hunter. They used these for night fighting and the skin kinda goes along with that. The cool thing is that the 4 x 20 AN/M2 cannons are in the wings beside and behind the cockpit. While the machine guns are in the wings. That's what is cool about this plane. Plus the fact that it is a twin engine heavy fighter. America needs more of this kinda stuff. I have some bad news for you simulator pilots.  You can't really see ANYTHING behind you. This planes cockpit was just not made for looking behind. But do not fear! You can see all in front and beside you. Although you should be afraid of pilot kills. There is something else really cool about this aircraft also. You can carry 1 x 1000 lb bomb 2 x 500 lbs. So a 2000 lb bomb load. You can use this plane for some major ground attack. Also, I suggest using Boom and Zoom tactics because this thing can easily climb and accumulate speed.  I was going 850 km/h in realistic and did not rip my wings. Although my entire monitor was shaking and freaking out! That is a problem though. For me, if your going over 600 km/h, you can not control this aircraft. It just goes absolutely crazy and it is impossible to do anything with. I also think there is another good thing. I think that this aircraft can tank anything and everything. It seems to me like this plane can take a whole lot more punishment then other aircraft. Honestly, this plane seems really op for arcade. That is why I usually just plane realistic with this. It really does take a while to get use to it in realistic. But remember, at high speeds, you can probably be out-turned by crappy planes. Plus aircraft with two engines can be hard to control in realistic. Just remember, it takes a lot of practice and time to get good with this.  I am still in the process of learning this aircraft. You also need to learn how to conserve the ammo. With 8 guns, it can end up really hard to not eat up ammunition. These are just a few of some important things you need to know about the F7F-1 Tigercat!

Later on I am going to make another blog post with more information about the aircraft.  I just need to learn a lot more before diving in deep with another F7F post. Thanks guys!

War Thunder American P-40 Tier 2 Fighter

The P-40 is an outstanding Tier 2 fighter. In short, this thing can turn, climb, and wreck everything else. While you may not think of this low Tier 2 aircraft as amazing, this is a best when fully modified and crew is all the way up. Let me just say that all the stats below are from a stand point of the plane already being fully upgraded. This thing has a nice top speed of 601 km/h and can climb at about 17.5 m/s.  The climb is pretty good but that speed is nice for a Tier 2 fighter. Now lets talk about the armament.  This aircraft has 6 x 12.7 mm machine guns with about 280 rounds per gun. That gives a total of 1680 rounds. May not seem like a lot but when playing realistic, conserve your ammo! If you can learn and get really good at conserving ammo, you will become an amazing pilot. With training in other skills also haha. Lets now talk about the modifications. When upgraded, it can carry 2 x 100 lb bombs and a single 500 lb under the fuselage. I do not recommend using this is realistic because your plane will be so heavy and so slow that you wont be able the dogfight or climb well.  Only use the bombs in arcade if you really feel like it. Next up is the tactics. In realistic, there are a lot of tactics but I have my favorite. You climb as high as you can when you take off. Try and get above the enemy and scare them down lower. Once you have forced the enemy aircraft down, you can pick a target and begin dog-fighting. Note that sometimes you will die on the "scare them to a lower altitude."  Or you could just Boom and Zoom. Whatever you feel like you love the most. Now compared to the P-400. I would say that this plane is just better. Yes, I know that the the P-400 has a 20 mm. The P-40 can out turn and out climb the P-400 any day.  This may go against some, but as I said, the P-40 is better. Remember, set your gun targeting distance to 500 or 600 meters, That ensures you some nice kills from any distance! Now lets talk historically. In WWII, 1500 P-40 were produced. That's a pretty big amount! These planes were used all over the world for a very long time! Overall, this single engine aircraft is amazing for all around purposes. You can dogfight, attack ground troops, or provide air support. I also want to say that Gaijin did a nice job on the flight model. It is surprisingly more or less accurate the the real WWII aircraft. This plane is just so fun and cool to watch and fly!

War Thunder B-25-J20 Tier 3 Bomber

The B-25-J20 is the Tier 3 American Bomber. Coming right before the B-17, most bomber pilots will have to end up using this plane. While it was historically great and all, this plane really just isn't that good. The few cons were decent bomb load and terrible turn time. The turn time can be excused by saying that this thing is a bomber and isn't made for turning In War Thunder, this aircraft can only carry up to 3 x 1000 lb bombs. So only a 3000 lb bomb load. The Japanese H6K4 has more than this and it is a Tier 1! I do have to say that you can easily climb to altitude with no problem and base-rush. If you are going to base rush, just realize that you are going to want to climb as high as you can before it is time for you to drop your bombs. Some maps spawn fighters really high and climbing is your best option. Also, if your going to rush, I suggest that you squad or Skype a friend With a not-so-great bomb load, having some friends play with you can be very necessary. I find it hard to base-rush in medium bombers unless you have someone willing to bomb with you or you have a fighter escort pilot. Have a friend dedicated to escorting can ensure that you will stay up longer and have more time to bomb. One very funny thing about this plane is that it has 6 mounted 12.7 mm machine guns in or near the nose. You can use this plane as an attacker or use those guns to shoot down other bombers! The guns make this plane feel more like a fun attacker than an actual bomber. It also has five turrets for defense. Two guns on the back, a turret on top with two guns, and a few turrets in the nose. As you can see, this plane has light defensive armament. Upgrade your crew and you will be getting a number of aircraft kills though! I always seem to get 1 to 3 kills in this bomber by just flying low. If your crew isn't upgraded, their accuracy will be so bad and the reload time will take forever! Those are just a few things to keep in mind. Historically, this plane was known for its bomber runs on Japan after the attack on Pearl Harbor. A whole squadron of these things would wreck! They took off from carriers and flew to Japan. In War Thunder, they give you tail hooks and you can land or take off from carriers! Seems really cool that they actually added that! One other thing that is important to know is that the max altitude was 7500 meters or 25,000 ft. Not that bad considering that it is a medium bomber and doesn't have amazing power. In Realistic battles, make sure not to go above 600 km/h or you will rip your wings. Also, don't mess with your flaps while going fast! Overall, this plane is really fun and is awesome to fly around in. I think Gaijin did a good job of making a good flight model and making this aircraft as historically accurate as they could

Stay tuned for next time! Comment below on some other planes you think I should write about. Thanks for reading!

F4U-1C Tier 3 Navy American Fighter

The F4U-1C is one of the American Naval aircraft of World War II. The 1C brings a few things that the other variants of the plane do not This plane had four 20 mm cannons. While having very impressive firepower, this plane is not good at turning, climbing, and it had decent speed.  In War Thunder. the best tactic would be Boom and Zoom in this. The only downfall to that would be that this plane can not climb very well.  The one thing this plane did have was the W - Wing shape. This design reduced weight and drag for the aircraft. With this design came a very interesting fact. The wing design of this plane called for a huge propeller. Biggest of WWII for that matter. The propellers had a diameter of 4 meters. As stated previously, this is the biggest propeller for a single engine fighter. Anyway, lets talk about the armament on this aircraft. Here we have 4 x 20 mm AN/M2 cannons. These cannons pack a punch if you are well at aiming. I say that because they have a relatively slow rate of fire. In WWII they mainly just used this aircraft for ground attack and night time interceptions. In War Thunder Arcade battles, you can use this thing for whatever you want. Although it isn't great for Realistic battles, you can use them. My advice is to just stay behind everyone and don't engage unless you know that you can take on your enemy. Each gun had about 230 rounds. That is one other thing I should state. When flying this aircraft, put ALL your crew points into weapons reloading. This will decrease the time it takes to reload and is a blessing for this aircraft. I now reload in 20 seconds instead of 40. I can continue to upgrade weapons reloading and bring it down to only a 15 second reload time. Very helpful in a plane with cannons that have a small amount of ammo.  For modifications on this aircraft, let me just say this. There isn't any. This plane can not carry rockets or bombs. I think rockets would be very nice but I also like the fact that Gaijin is being historically accurate.  I think that since they used these for ground attacks, they carried a few small bombs. Probably not enough that Gaijin would care to add them to this aircraft. Lets talk  about the cockpit for Simulator battles. I have a few bad things for you Sim pilots. The good news is the fact that it has a great cockpit for looking forward and above. The not so good news is that you can not see behind you at all in this thing. They obviously did not design this aircraft cockpit for looking backward. That is like most Tier 3 American Fighter aircraft though. So nothing new just a few sad face facts.  Overall, I think that this is a great and fun plane to fly and admire. I do not suggest using this plane as you main fighter. Stick to your P-47 or P-63 for that, Well, thanks for reading this guys!

P.S. Put stealth bullets on this thing and go troll some aircraft in Arcade.

P-47 War Thunder Tier 3 Fighter

The P-47 is probably the most loved aircraft for Tier 3 Americans. When you first look at this plane you probably thought that it can not turn at all. This is false. For a big, heavy plane like this, the turn time really isn't that bad. When you fully upgrade and modify the aircraft, it becomes more like the rest of the fighters. You also might be wondering why it would be considered a bomber Well, for a fighter like this, you would not expect it to have a large bomb load. But, its bomb load actually consists of 2 x 1000 lb bombs and a 500 lb bomb. That is really good considering that the B-25 bomber of the same tier can hold only 500 lbs more than the P-47.  So you want to know what makes this plane so good. Well, lets start of with the 8 x 12.7 Browning Machine Guns. These things pack some truly amazing fire power! There are 4 machine guns in each wings. You might want to set your gun convergence to 600 meters when flying the P-47. It has a crazy spread without any convergence and it can really mess up your aiming and fighting.  The machine guns come together to have a total of 3400 round or 425 rounds per gun. Not amazing, but enough to wreck some planes! One of my favorite parts of this plane is the 10 x 127 mm rockets that you can load. Those rockets sure do pack a load of heat and will easily one hit the aircraft you are shooting at. If you can actually hit him with a rocket of course.  So fully modified, you can load 10 x 127 mm rockets + 2 x 1000 lb bombs + 1 x 500 lb bomb. Plus the fact that this plane handles very nicely. I would suggest this plane for realistic battles but remember to take bombs off unless you are going to actually be bombing. In realistic, a few extra bombs can weigh you plane down and reduce your speed and turn time by a lot! I also do not suggest rockets in realistic battles. They seem just to weigh the plane down and dont do a whole lot. Arcade battles are a whole different story. I encourage rockets in arcade because its just so easy to get on an enemies six or just get a clear shot. The next thing I am going to talk about is the tactics you should use when fighting in this beast.  Obviously, like every other american fighter, you should use boom and zoom tactics. This is the tactic where you fly very high, choose a target, and dive on him and kill him. After that you should climb back up to the altitude you were at. The point is to not loose any speed or energy in that dive and when fighting the enemy. This plane is very vulnerable at low speeds and low altitude, Even though the top speed of this aircraft is 700. The speed is much faster when you fully modify it. In real life, the P-47 was actually one of the most successful WWII planes that ever flew. After the Thunderbolts were first produced, they quickly took the role of ground attack. Thus adding bombs to the plane. I feel like Gaijin did a great job making this plane as realistic as they could! This plane seems fat and hard to fly at first, but keep trying! It will get easier and you will eventually get the hang of it! Stay tuned until next time when I'm talking about the new F7F in War Thunder!

P-38G Tier 2 American Heavy Fighter

The P-38G is the first and only P-38 in War Thunder as of right now Its an all-metal and really sturdy aircraft. The only issue you will encounter with this aircraft is the tail. Its tail is a big, fat weak spot on the plane and easy for a enemy on your six o'clock to shoot. With a climb rate of 21.4 m/s, this plane could skyrocket. This is truly an American plane that can boom and zoom in War Thunder. With a turn time of 21.5 seconds, you can turn fight but only if you really know what your doing.  In arcade, you can turn fight with bombers. If you are just an arcade pilot then you can feel free to turn whenever.  Seeing that it is a tier 2 with a battle rating of 3.3, you can still use the P-38G in tier 3 battles and wreck! That all depends on your piloting skills though! When your talking about the P-38G you are talking about an amazing 20 mm Hispano AN/M2 cannon. This thing only have 150 rounds, but it can really wreck anything in its way. Along with the cannon, this plane has 4 x 12.7 mm Browning machine guns. These machine guns each have 500 rounds. One major downfall on this plane is the fact that it doesn't carry rockets. Usually in WWII they modified this plane to carry unguided rockets or bombs. Rockets would make this plane overpowered, but nevertheless Gaijin should be more historically accurate on their planes. One other thing that I believe War Thunder should add the installation of bombs. Historically, the P-38 did carry bombs and rockets but they choose not to add them in War Thunder because this would unbalance tier two fighters. From my experience with the P-38, I can say that it is a really fun and isn't to overpowered. Even though the flight model isn't historically correct, this plane is a interesting and cool plane in War Thunder!
